Baja SAE is a collegiate engineering design competition organized by the SAE International. In this competition, students design and build a durable, single-seat off-road vehicle capable of performing in harsh, all-weather conditions and navigating challenging terrain.
Teams are evaluated through a combination of static events, including business presentation, cost analysis, and engineering design, and dynamic events such as acceleration, maneuverability, suspension, and traction testing, and either a hill climb or sled pull. The competition concludes with a demanding four-hour endurance race, where vehicles compete wheel-to-wheel on a rugged off-road course.
