Purdue University Northwest campus is the official Tau Psi Chapter. Mission
The STARS Leadership Corps (SLC), or in PNW, the STARS Computing for Underrepresented Students, is a proven, flagship program for building capacity and igniting action for students. In the club, college faculty support college student teams to develop and lead service learning projects that are grounded in providing equitable access to inclusive computing education as an issue of social justice, provide a socially relevant context for CS knowledge, and present opportunities for meaningful practice of CS skills; building these connections and skills through leadership participation is a key part of the STARS approach to increasing persistence in computing degree programs.

The Lionette's of Purdue Northwest University celebrates the beauty of dance, focusing on a mix of majorette style and color guard flag performances. Majorettes encompass more than just dancing; they hold a significant cultural role, particularly in Historically Black Roots. Majorette teams provide a platform for women to join a supportive community, build confidence, and enhance flexibility. Majorette dancers stand out through cohesive hairstyles and vibrant outfits. Dancing makes guard members’ skill on equipment even higher, because they can move their bodies in an enhanced way. Flag spinning, also known as flag dancing, is a form of performance art where flags are spun and waved in a rhythmic fashion with music while dancing majorette style. Committed to excellence, teamwork, and creativity, the team fosters school spirit through their performances at campus events. All while providing an inclusive space for artistic expression and personal growth.

Mission
The Westville campus is a beautiful resource for our university in the extraordinary PNW system, including the Hammond Campus and Gabis Arboretum. The Westville Warriors’ missing is to emphasize the value of the Westville campus, demonstrate how many students care about the campus, celebrate campus history, build deeper connections with the Hammond campus and Gabis Arboretum, and fill gaps in campus programming. The Westville Warriors is a student organization dedicated also dedicated to raising awareness for class and educational needs, and to advocate that every student should have equal access to PNW education no matter what their major, location, race, financial status, disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, or any attribute or defining status. Though we are working primarily to build up the Westville campus, we will also work to speak up if we see an imbalance of programming on the Hammond campus, or at Gabis Arboretum. Our main goal is to come together to make sure that all portions of our one university are equally strong! We will continuously spread awareness for our organization so that students know they can come to us when experiencing scheduling issues; we will not only help guide them to their advisors and appropriate faculty, but also assemble a living list of the programming needs of Westville students and surrounding community members. As an organization, we believe that no student should have to change programs or leave PNW altogether because they are unable to commute. Students work too hard to get to college to be made to choose against a program they truly want, or commute to a location that is inconvenient for them, when PNW offers a more convenient option, whichever location that might be. When we consider the fact that so many of our students are working students, are untraditional, are supporting families while continuing their education, emphasizing the importance of meeting them where they are is paramount. In addition to these initiatives, the Westville Warriors will advocate for equal access to education as a whole. We will hold repetitive fundraisers and events to raise funds so that we can support impoverished students and help ensure that all students have access to the resources that they need.

Within and throughout this struggle, we will articulate and defend the idea that true human liberation is impossible under capitalism. Our vision of socialism is profoundly democratic, feminist, and anti-racist.

YDSA is a space in which students, campus workers and community youth can learn from one another and be empowered to fight against the most pressing social justice issues impacting our communities. We educate our fellow students on how capitalism is negatively impacting every social justice issue from immigration rights to free healthcare to stopping global warming, and to organize campaigns that will combat these threats to our right to a better world. We practice radical solidarity with other campus and community groups that are fighting for justice, equality and liberation, and push for a true democracy in our campuses and local communities that will serve as the ground for for a democratic socialist future.
Through our biannual conventions, we democratically determine what the next overarching goals and positions for YDSA will be and how to put them into practice. Through healthy debate and learning from other leaders representing chapters from all over the country, we determine the aims of our campaigning work in our communities and our vision for a democratic socialist society. We aim to establish a clear framework of short and long-term goals towards establishing democratic socialism and to provide resources for working towards those goals in our chapters all across the country.
