When Creating your Constitution or reviewing a Constitution you already have it’s best to use the Sample Constitution as a starting place. The sample constitution has been updated this year to make the office of Student Life’s expectations clearer and more consistent.
Student Organizations that re-register with the Office of Student Life in Spring 2026 for the 2026-2027 Academic Year will be required to amend your constitutions to align with the new sample.
Making Changes to your Constitution
The Office of Student Life allows student organizations to make and change their constitution as needed provided they follow the guidelines HERE. Any changes just need to be sent to studentlife@pnw.edu. If student Organizations want to add more articles to their Constitution outside of the mandatory sections, provided that it is not in conflict with the RSO Handbook and Student Code of Conduct, they are welcome to submit them to the Office of Student Life for review with a meeting agenda that notes quorum within your organization is met and a record of the vote for the new constitution.
Elections
The structure for elections for student organizations are changing. Per the Sample Constitution, The office of Student Life now has a Standardized Election Procedure. Organizations shall use the surveys and forms within their MyPNWLife group pages to create an electronic ballot for students to vote in their elections.
