Olivia Hughes

My name is Olivia Hughes, and I am a student assistant for the Global Ambassador program and Study Away initiatives at PNW.  

Born and raised in Indiana, I am pursuing my undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy at PNW, and I recently participated on a semester-long study abroad program, studying British Politics and Legislature at University of Hull in England.  In addition to my travels, I am a respite care provider for adults with disabilities and a Lead Global Ambassador for PNW’s Study Away team. I’m truly excited to help other students discover the same life-changing Study Away experiences that shaped my own journey.

Faadil Ahmed

My name is Faadil Ahmed, and I am a student assistant for the Global Ambassador program and Study Away initiatives at PNW.  

Born in India and raised in Singapore, I am now pursuing my undergraduate degree in Business Management at Purdue Northwest. Aside from my studies, I am a Lead Global Ambassador where I enjoy planning events at PNW and connecting with students from all over the world. I’m excited to help more students get involved with the Global Ambassador program and contribute their culture and global experiences to our events. I’m a huge soccer fan and enjoy playing intramurals and pick-up games in Chicago.

Recently we welcomed visiting staff from University College Cork in Ireland and University of Graz in Austria to share information with PNW students about their respective exchange programs, academic offerings and what life is like studying in their countries. We are exploring ways to help international and local students connect through friendship and cultural exchange, and your interest makes a huge difference!

Help shape cultural exchange programs at PNW

Complete a brief Interest Survey to learn about opportunities to host an international student for Thanksgiving and befriending an international student through two beloved programs:

Host an International Student for Thanksgiving – Welcome an international student to your Thanksgiving tradition and share the experience of an American holiday celebration. This is a one-time cultural celebration experience.

Befriend an International Student with our Global Exchange Friendship Program  – Build meaningful connections with international students, learn about new cultures, and help create lasting friendships through our mentorship-style program. This is a semester-long friendship pairing.

Why participate? Every exchange helps strengthen our PNW community and make global experiences accessible for all! Students who select "interested" will receive additional information, including details about how to get involved. Your input is helping shape how we relaunch these very impactful programs!  Complete the Interest Survey today!
